Unborn Babies Soaked in Chemicals

Thu Jul 14, 2005 at 12:23:32 PM PDT

I suffer from multiple chemical and food intolerances that have undermined my health for years.  I have migraines, myofascial pain syndrome and fibromyalgia, all, I believe, the result of these various sensitivities.  I am the veritable "canary in the mine," the bird that warns miners of danger.  My sensitivies are, I think, warnings of things to come.

So I was very interested to read a study released today that says:  "Unborn U.S. babies are soaking in a stew of chemicals, including mercury, gasoline byproducts and pesticides..."

Who Will Care About the Animals?

Tue Jul 12, 2005 at 12:54:13 PM PDT

Another stray cat has found its way to my deck.  Over the years, this has happened repeatedly.  I don't know how they know that this is a house where someone will take them in and minister to their needs.  Maybe somehow they sense the other cats inside.  But I prefer to believe that some enigmatic force of nature sends them to me.  I'm not  much into organized religion, but I believe that caring for the animals is part of my life's mission.

More below the fold.

Ohio Conflict of Interest

Mon Nov 15, 2004 at 10:00:39 AM PDT

One of my friends submitted a letter to the Akron Beacon Journal that was published today.  The letter deals with Ken Blackwell, Ohio Secretary of State, and a phone campaign in support of Issue 1, the gay marriage initiative on the Ohio ballot.

I had not heard this before and find it outrageous that a Secretary of State should engage in such blatant conflict of interest bahavior.  I have heard there are efforts under way to petition for Blackwell's resignation.  But, I don't have any details.

The letter is found below.
